Low energy building analysis
reflection
Energy efficiency is vital in today's architecture as effective energy can save money and reduce pollution to the global and the environment. As this is my first module that concentrates on in-depth learning of energy, so by completing this project, I have understood the role of energy efficiency in low-energy buildings. Additionally, learning through understanding an existing building brings me a deeper knowledge of the energy-efficient strategies by researching real-life conditions. Moreover, other than doing self-study on these strategies, the support and assistance from lecturers and my groupmate really help and clarify me a lot during the process.
Torre Reforma
Torre Reforma is a low energy building located in Mexico City, Mexico, which presents energy-efficient strategies in HVAC systems, automation, renewable energy sources, and water conservation. Facade design is one of their potential innovation in energy efficiency. The facade that is integrated with concrete and double glass help to shelter it from the powerful Mexico sun while permitting daylight to penetrate into the tower without affecting its inner climate.
