Designing with Architectural Principles + Materiality
REFLECTION
I get to develop my creativity and share my ideas with my groupmate in this project, which enhances my communication skill. I am proud of the outcome even though we have gone through many obstacles during the process. That gain my experience in design. When making the model, I have experienced different spatial qualities and materiality and succeeded to express the atmosphere and feelings into the design. Creating a structure showing a coherent story whilst demonstrating the experience that can be shared and felt by the public, giving me a different design concept and ideas that I will continue to keep this idea up. Furthermore, I have learnt a lot in terms of the techniques for presenting and showing the work quality to the audience. Good drawings are important as well because a drawing can bring and express the space quality that the model couldn't show. In conclusion, this project has not only to develop my personal skills but has also enhanced my knowledge in design and drawings.
As this project is based on the Covid-19 pandemic, I and my groupmate have decided to come out with the narrative of reflection on the ongoing pandemic. This narrative is based on a real-life story that is shared on the website. We analysed and summarized the story and expressed it through the feelings that everyone can perceive. Our final model is a modular structure that arranges 4 stages, which are outbreak, barriers, the transition of life, and adaptation and these 4 stages can be experienced according to a person's feeling.
