Exploring local architecture or built environment (BE) responses to specific SDG goals and targets

reflection

SDG is important to global due to the set of universal goals that would help combat the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. They promote a long-term approach to addressing global challenges, including poverty and hunger, climate change, educational equality, etc. Today, many SDGs can be sought in Malaysia's built environment thus resulting in the reduction of environmental pollution and promoting environmental-friendly innovations, products and features. By acknowledging the Sustainable Development Goals through the existing buildings, I have benefited a lot and will apply the methods to achieve green building design in the coming future.

Bukit Bintang City Center (BBCC)

SDG 9 refers to industry, innovation and infrastructure. Its objectives are to build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation. One of the local buildings that have complied with this sustainable goal is BBCC, which has been reflected in some of the building features, such as the green roof and the innovative technologies.
